Foreword
Closing the gap between communities and green finance
Nigeria holds extraordinary natural wealth: Guinea forests and mangrove deltas, agricultural belts that feed West Africa, and abundant solar, hydro, wind and biomass resources. At the same time, our people and landscapes are highly exposed to climate impacts — flooding in cities and river basins, desertification in the north, coastal erosion along the Atlantic, and energy poverty in communities that sit beside generation assets.
Most Nigerians live and work outside the formal green-finance system. Communities, states, cooperatives and small enterprises often lack the technical preparation, safeguards and accounting capacity required to access climate finance fairly. That reality is both a development challenge and a national opportunity.
GreenTech Foundation Africa exists to close that gap. We are technical and community-facing. We are not a broker and not an extractor. We help communities, states, cooperatives and SMEs prepare, finance, deliver and account for green projects — while keeping fair benefit at home in Nigeria.
Our 2026–2030 prospectus sets out eight strategic pillars, a flagship programme portfolio of approximately USD 12.5 million, and a roadmap to build lasting national capability. We invite partners who share our commitment to community primacy, technical honesty and integrity to walk this path with us.
